Here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about me and my website:
Q: What kind of camera and lens do you use?
A: I use a Canon EOS Digital SLR Camera with a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM Lens and a Canon Speedlite Flash.
Q: Where did you take most of your photographs?
A: I live on the windward side of the Big Island of Hawaii in the town of Pahoa, which is near Hilo, so many of my photographs were taken in this general area. Since Hilo is the rainiest city in the United States with about 126 inches or 320 cm of rain per year, the vegetation here is lush and jungle-like with plenty of interesting tropical flowers and plants to photograph. To find native plants here, I visit Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park.
Q: When is the best time to see flowers in Hawaii?
A: Anytime! Because of Hawaii's tropical climate, flowers bloom here year-round and it's not difficult to find something in bloom, even in the middle of winter.
